The Hydra Begleri from Aroundsquare is a fun yet highly capable modern adaptation of the traditional Greek begleri with multiple beads. The Mini Hydra design has been praised by top players as one of the best begleri sets available. There is something special about the size, shape, weight, and multi-bead configuration that makes the Mini Hydras a favourite that players keep returning to. The Mini Hydras are a slightly smaller version of the original Hydra beads, 14 mm in diameter and 7 mm high. They are drilled for 550 paracord, with an open knot.
Stainless Steel/Delrin Edition
The combination of Delrin and stainless steel in the Mini Hydras was first introduced in 2018, allowing the player to adjust the weight distribution of the set to their preference for top-heavy play (making the beads more agile and the set 'lighter' in play) or bottom-heavy play (making the set feel more stable and swing with more momentum). The new 2020 SS/D Mini Hydras use the same materials but now come with six available Delrin material colours and feature the AROUNDSQUARE wordmark laser-etched on one of the SS beads
