The transparent acrylic 'Ice Bones' are lightweight and have a smooth, glossy finish that provides a good grip during play. The combination of weight and grip makes them less prone to falling, and they are also excellent for many advanced moves where the bone is manipulated from one of the ends.

Players accustomed to the momentum and gravitational effect of the heavier metal versions may need some time to adjust to this play style, but those interested in tricks and technical play will find this version extremely flexible and entertaining.

The Ice Bones are visually very striking. They are fully transparent and refract light in very interesting ways through their curves, making them great for taking beautiful photos.

In terms of durability, the acrylic material is surprisingly robust. The Ice Bones can generally withstand a fair amount of impact (i.e., falling on hard surfaces) and will not break or crack easily. However, hard drops are likely to damage the surface and drops on rough surfaces like sidewalks are likely to damage, scratch, or even break the kbone, leading to a loss of transparency.

In a pocket, the Ice Bones are fairly scratch-resistant. Over time, however, they will acquire microabrasions, which will eventually make them less transparent. They come with a thin flannel bag to protect them when not in use.
