Compared to other Russian balls, this one is very soft, which feels great. This also makes it easier to hold multiple balls in one hand

Because the ball is partially filled with sand, the centre of gravity is always low. This makes it stable in your hand, allows you to catch it on your foot, and prevents it from rolling away when dropped. The quartz sand is particularly fine, which means the ball won't wobble much in the air when thrown with a spin

Although the ball is perfectly round, it doesn't roll very well, so it's not suitable for contact juggling. For toss juggling, which is standard juggling, this is actually a plus
