The different colours have different characteristics:

1. White: These pads are standard installed on most YoYoFactory YoYos. Very suitable for all styles of play. The best all-around pads
2. Red: Competition pads. They break in very quickly and reach their good point soon, but wear out faster than other pads. Ideal to be ready for the stage or competition within a few minutes
3. Pink and yellow: These very reliable pads play almost the same even after prolonged use and wear. Unlike other pads, they do not have a real sweet spot
4. Blue: Grip pads. Breaking in these pads takes a bit longer, but they give a "grip" feel with an average response
5. Brown: The marathon pads. Also known as "natural". The pads with the least wear and short break-in time. Good for a YoYo that can be taken anywhere
6. Green: These pads are extra thick. They are suitable for the responsive versions of ONE/Dv888/Hubstack/Replay
